As we continue to honour motherhood, we’re thrilled to highlight some of the
mothers and daughters within Blue Illusion. “We’re blessed to have so many families on our team,” says Indiana, Head of Marketing and daughter of founders Donna and Danny. “It’s part of what makes the business amazing.”

Those of you who are familiar with our story know that family is foundational to Blue Illusion. But Donna and her children aren’t the only family members that make up the vibrant tapestry of our community.

Meet Angie and Skye, who have been with us for 25 and 10 years, respectively. They’re the brilliant women who keep us running from behind the scenes. “I feel blessed to be working at Blue Illusion with my daughter,” Angie tells us. “I get to see her grow as a professional and
further develop into a strong and confident woman.”

Skye shares that, along with homemade lunches, one of the perks of working with her mum is seeing first-hand what a dedicated and hardworking woman she is.

"I can't imagine working a full-time job and having to come home each night to a family asking you what's for dinner. Mums are superheroes! Mum has taught me that although it’s important to work hard and grow in your career, it’s equally as important to book a holiday. Everyone who works with Ange knows that. Mum and I both have the same attitude; we’re strong women who aren’t afraid to stand up for what we believe in. Mum has a heart of gold and lights up every room she's in; I can't imagine life without her."

Along with a strong work ethic and holistic approach to life, great taste also runs in the family.

“I definitely got my fashion sense from my mum; she's so iconic.” Casey and her mum, Kit, are another mother-daughter duo who enrich our team with their joie de vivre.

“I learned from my mum that it's always important to show what you can do, not just tell, and that hard work is always the priority; do the best you can.”

For Kit, motherhood is a source of joy and empowerment.

"Coming home every night to my girls reminded me what I was working for. It’s learning about strengths you didn’t know you had. I love working with Casey because she’s a mature adult now, not my little girl anymore and I am so proud of her.”

We’re also blessed to have three generations of stylists in our boutiques.
Halina and Andrea have been with us from almost the beginning and were instrumental in shaping our charity events that play a vital role in our business today. Andrea’s daughter, Keira, joined our team nearly two years ago. Andrea shares:

“Being a mother is a love like no other. Watching my two girls grow into such respectful, kind women has been such a beautiful time for me! Each of them with different qualities and attributes. The connection you have with a child is incredibly special, and I feel so blessed to have experienced that in my life."

The bonds between these women remind us how essential mothers are in shaping who we are, from how we dress to the way we live our lives. As we grow into adulthood, we gain the uniquely special experience of rediscovering our mums from a new perspective, not just as the woman who raised and nurtured us, but also as an individual, chic and inspiring in her own right.
